Three ways to get equipment into Inspectr: type it in, photograph a nameplate, or upload a spreadsheet.
Click + Add Asset from the Equipment Inventory to open the add asset dialog. You have three options:
Manual Entry
Enter brand name and model number (both required), plus optional serial number and asset type. Providing the asset type helps Inspectr find better documentation for obscure or specialized equipment. You'll also see a field for installation date if you have it.
Nameplate Upload
Take a photo of the equipment nameplate and upload it. Inspectr reads the brand, model, and serial from the image and creates the asset record automatically. This is the fastest way to build an inventory from a site walkthrough.
CSV Upload
Upload a spreadsheet with brand and model columns (serial optional) to add equipment in bulk. Use this when you're importing from an existing equipment list, CAFM export, or audit spreadsheet.
Automatic Enrichment
Once an asset is added by any method, Inspectr enriches it — pulling manufacturer data, technical specifications, useful life estimates, and a preventive maintenance schedule. This typically takes a few seconds.
